Frequently Asked Questions

  • We offer a range of services designed to meet your needs. These are:

    • Interior Detailing

    • Exterior Detailing

    • Paint Correction

    • Graphene Coating

    • Headlight Restoration

    • Engine Bay Detailing

    • Glass Polishing

  • We understand why ‘Cut and Polish’ and ‘Paint Correction’ is interchangeable. That is why I want to explain it here.

Paint Correction is the process of removing paint defects to restore gloss and clarity. Car paint is not flat and perfect. Think of it as tiny hills and valleys.

    • Scratches and swirls = Tiny grooves

    • Oxidation = Dead and chalky clear coat

    • Haze = Uneven clear coat from wear

Paint correction ‘levels’ the clear coat so that light reflects evenly again, which gives your car paint a deeper, glossier look that is permanent.

A cut and polish does the same job as a paint correction, but it only improves appearance. A proper Paint Correction restores the paint with different pad attachments, compounds, and machine speeds.

Paint is measured, correction is controlled, clear coat is safe.

  • On our Premium Detail package, there are three packages:

    • Paint Enhancement: Improves gloss and removes light swirls (about 50%-70%)

    • 1-Stage Correction: Removes most visible defects (around 70%-85%)

    • 2-Stage Correction: Heavy defect removal + refining polish (85%-95%+)

So which package is best for your car?

    • Get a paint enhancement if you only want to boost gloss and depth of your car paint. This only reduces slight swirls however.

    • Get a 1-Stage Correction if your car has defects and want it to look premium!

    • Get a 2-Stage Correction if you want to restore your car’s true glory.

However, if you are still unsure or depending on the state of your car, we can or may provide suggestions on what’s best for your car!

  • I also got confused about this as well. To put it simply:

Ceramic coating is a hard, glossy protective layer that bonds to your paint and makes it easier to clean and protects it long-term.

Graphene Coating is a next-generation ceramic coating with added graphene the improves slickness, heat resistance, and reduces water spotting.

Both protect really well. Both ARE ceramic coatings. But the reason I use graphene coating? All the benefits of a ceramic coating PLUS:

    • Highly heat-resistant

    • Naturally slick

    • Darker, richer gloss

    • Less water spotting.

Graphene coatings are still ceramic coatings, they’re just enhanced with graphene for extra performance and good for harsh conditions, especially Auckland weather.

  • It’s understandable that our prices are quite high and you may want to go to a different detailer with a lower price.

We provide not only a clean and pristine looking car, we take our detailing into a high standard.

No quick interior vacuum and wipe, no basic detailing packages, our minimum standard is our Full Detail. We want your car to be granted the luxury service it needed ever since it came from their respective factory.

Enough with the words, here’s what we offer:

    • High quality products that are professional-grade, not consumer grade

    • Everything taken into account. Our package fills in everything what it needs to be detailed, not with a ‘basic package’ that misses an area that needs steaming.

    • We’re detailers, it’s in the name. Door jambs, under seat areas, wheel wells, nooks and creases, rubber trims. Can’t see it? We can.

    • No quick jobs, only quality work. If the job is four hours long, we take the whole four hours to detail your car.

It is our responsibility in Zephyr Detailing to adhere the utmost service for your car, as detailing is our craft.
